What Makes a Good Vendor?
In the wide, wild world of the web and web marketing, there are going to be literally hundreds of different vendors you may be considering along the way. There are so many moving parts to a successful business, that no one person could realistically be expected to master every discipline. Thankfully, you don’t have to for the number of vendors out there to help you market your business are not going to be hard to find.
One example might be if you are looking for a ppc agency to handle your pay per click advertising. This can be a very smart move for businesses of any size, because it is almost like you a throwing a saddle on a professional. Of course this is just an illustration – please don’t try this with a ppc professional, as most won’t appreciate you trying to saddle them with anything more than some reasonable requests!
A good vendor, regardless of where you are using them, is going to offer you some common things no matter where you are using them. They are going to be responsive to you, both when you have a concern and when you are simply checking in. Communication is the key to a solid relationship, so use this as an early indicator of the value of the relationship. Even the busiest professionals understand that they are busy because people want to talk with them, and make it possible to do so.
Another thing common with a vendor you appreciate over time, is value added. This does not mean they are necessarily cheap or inexpensive in any way -but more that you get your money’s worth in time.
